Meet the Fairies

“It is frightfully difficult to know much about the fairies, and almost the only thing for certain is that there are fairies wherever there are children.”

J.M. Barrie

What is life without a little magic? Yes, I know, we are clinical, analytical blockchain people. Our feet are planted firmly in reality. And yet, most of us can spare a minute or two for magic. In fact, the world seems a bit dull without it. Enter an Australian mother/ daughter team (Kate and Molly) who have created a project that is firmly based in blockchain reality while, at the same time, reminds us of the magic in the world. CryptoFairies strives to remind us that positivity and hard work make many things happen. And that everything is prettier with a glimmer of fairy dust.

Their AI generated genesis collection was created with the help of an AI program that the Fairies call Acadia. Each work is absolutely unique and will not be repeated. This collection is now fully minted and available on secondary markets. After their first mint, Kate and Molly made donations to both Girls Who Code and Save the Children. It can be viewed here:

The next release, Fairy Frens, will be very different from the Genesis Collection and is scheduled for May 2022. In the first collection each mint was a separate entity. In Fairy Frens, each NFT will be part of a larger story which stems from FAE the fairy queen. FAE comes from the land of Fairy which is centered around a large tree. The Fairies are able to access our world through the roots of this tree. The story is that the fairies slipped from their world to ours in a matriarchal society that is composed of a series of four clans: the Guard, Mystic Maidens, Daughters of the Mist and Willow Warriors. The Guard are the gatekeepers — noble and brave. The Mystic Maidens are sea fairies and are healers. The Willow Warriors are fearless, strong and tactical. The Daughters of the Mist are fortune tellers, clairvoyant and just a bit intimidating. Every single one of them is lovely. Here is a promo of the Willow Warriors clan:

n addition to belonging to a clan, each fairy has individual attributes. Everyone has an astral sign, similar to a zodiac sign that reveals a bit about her personality and where life’s journey may take her. Some have access to spell magic while others can shapeshift. As mentioned above, their clan also reflects their personality to a great degree.

This mother-daughter team is still getting ready for the Fairy Frens mint. However they are not content to stop there. The roadmap for this project extends through 2022 and beyond. They are building a Fairy Tale story, which they intend to publish at a later date. They will also have additional NFT mints and potentially create their own Fairy Land minting service. Not to mention a bit of advocacy for cannabis and plant based medicines. All of this while never losing sight of their intent to show women and girls that success in blockchain and STEM fields is possible with hard work and positivity. These two ladies are a force to be reckoned with and I look forward to seeing their creations in the coming year.
